RIYADH — The Saudi-led Arab Coalition forces to support Yemen's legitimacy intercepted and destroyed a booby-trapped drone launched by Iran-backed Houthis towards Saudi Arabia’s Jazan, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported on Thursday.
Since January, Yemen’s Houthis have increased their attacks on the Kingdom, launching several cross-border aerial attacks on Saudi Arabia.
Meanwhile, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Secretary General Dr. Yousef Bin Ahmed Al-Othaimeen Friday expressed his strong condemnation and denunciation of terrorist Houthi militia’s continued attempts to target innocent civilians in Saudi Arabia with booby-trapped drones.
The secretary-general also praised the efficiency and capabilities of the Saudi air defenses, in successfully intercepting and destroying today one of such drones, launched towards Jazan.
Dr. Al-Othaimeen said that OIC condemns the terrorist practices being committed by Houthi militia, stressing OIC 's support for all measures being taken by the Kingdom to maintain its security and stability as well as the safety of citizens and residents on its territories.
In Manama, the kingdom of Bahrain condemned the launch of a booby-trapped drone by the terrorist Houthi militia towards Jazan, stressing its support for Saudi Arabia for all the measures it takes to preserve its security and stability as well as to protect its citizens and residents on its territories.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bahrain commended the efficiency and vigilance of the Saudi air defenses, which were able to intercept and destroy the drone, calling on the international community to condemn these heinous hostile acts, which aim to harm civilians and civilian objects in the Kingdom, in violation of international humanitarian law. — SPA
