CAIRO — Speaker of Yemen’s Shoura Council Dr. Ahmed Obaid Bin Daghr commended Saudi Arabia’s efforts to reach Riyadh Agreement with the Transitional Council in Aden, pointing out that progress has been made in its implementation, and the rest of the steps are being achieved to pay attention to the main battle in Yemen.

This came during Daghr's participation in the first Arab Parliament session of the second session of the third legislative term, which was held Saturday at the headquarters of the Arab League in the Egyptian capital, Cairo.

Dr. Dagher said, "The legitimate Yemeni government has never closed the door for dialogue with Houthis to stop the bloodshed and preserve the remaining capabilities in Yemen, through well-known international, Gulf and national references to solve the Yemeni crisis."

He explained that the rescue mission in Yemen needs a comprehensive ceasefire and a national dialogue based on the three references, followed by national reconciliation, describing the United Nations' efforts in Yemen as being less the required level and that the position in the Security Council is still unified, as its members recognize the role of the legitimate government and Yemen's territorial integrity and stability. — SPA
