RIYADH — The National Violations Platform (Efaa) has clarified that there is no truth whatsoever in reports being circulated on social media about it launching a motivational program under which the value of fines for traffic violations will be cut by 20 percent.

Efaa made the clarification through its official Twitter account, in response to queries about the truthfulness of rumors regarding a 20 percent reduction in tickets for traffic violations.

“The platform made no official announcement of any such a motivational program on the platform,” the tweet said.

Efaa is one of the national platforms implemented by the National Information Center of the Saudi Authority for Data and Artificial Intelligence, and it aims to enable citizens, residents, visitors and business owners to easily check and review all their violations related to various government departments and agencies.

This platform, which is connected to all the concerned agencies that are issuing violation tickets, seeks to unify, simplify and improve procedures of rectifying violations. It also aims to achieve behavioral discipline and raise awareness among members of the public by enhancing their commitment to the enforced systems.
