RIYADH — Gulf Cooperation Council's (GCC) Secretary-General Dr. Nayef Al-Hajraf stressed the importance of the Saudi Green Initiative that represents a global contribution and a real response to climate change challenges.

In a statement, Al-Hajraf said that this Saudi initiative required regional and international cooperative efforts to reach its goals in saving earth from climate change issues.

He praised the vision and the programs set for this initiative, saying it was a historical turning point in the region.

Al-Hajraf expressed appreciation to Minister of Energy Prince Abdulaziz Bin Salman and his working staff for the exceptional preparation and work on this initiative.

Earlier Saturday, Crown Prince Muhammad Bin Salman launched in Riyadh the first edition of the forum supporting the "Saudi Green Initiative." — KUNA
