RIYADH — Nadhmi Al-Nasr, CEO of NEOM, said that there are 1,200 employees working and living in the NEOM city and they are involved in preparing the implementation phase of the NEOM Project’s strategies.

“NEOM was created to be an independent economy that was built by 16 sectors, led by technology, and the new city will have its own laws and legislation,” he said while addressing the fifth edition of the Future Investment Initiative here on Tuesday.

Al-Nasr said that the NEOM City is racing against time to plan and accelerate bold investments. “NEOM will try to increase companies and bold investments for hundreds of companies. There is a plan to expand NEOM through the inclusion of many companies,” he said.

Al-Nasr revealed that within 60 days, he will announce to the world happy news about the progress of the work in the NEOM project. He said the project’s progress is more than expected.

“Within two years of launching the NEOM project, the transformation of the Crown Prince’s vision for NEOM city into strategies has been completed in October 2020 and submitted to the Board of Directors, which accorded approval for it.”

The NEOM chief said that it is currently targeted to expand the economy in the NEOM city by integrating more companies over the coming years. “We have nine years of work until 2030 to realize the city of NEOM on the ground,” he added.
