Dr. Al-Tamimi, Eng. Al Maawali review KSA’s strategic directions in developing telecom, IT sectors

RIYADH — The Communications and Information Technology Commission (CITC) Governor Dr. Mohammed Bin Saud Al-Tamimi has received here the Minister of Transport, Communications and Information Technology in the Sultanate of Oman, Eng. Said Al Maawali and the accompanying delegation, currently on a visit to the Kingdom.

The meeting was held in the presence of the CEO of Oman Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA), Eng. Omar Al Ismaili.

During the meeting, they reviewed the Kingdom’s experience in the field of regulating the telecommunications, information technology and postal sectors as well as its strategic directions in developing these sectors, the steps taken in the field of the digital economy, the mechanisms used to build future technical capabilities and skills.

This is in addition to the investment aspects and introducing the two parties’ experience in stimulating investment in technologies and the emerging, e-commerce support.

It is worth mentioning that the visit of Oman delegation to the Kingdom seeks to enhance cooperation between the two countries in the telecommunications, information technology and postal sectors, and discuss a number of issues related to those sectors in the knowledge, development and investment aspects. — SPA
