GACA grants second license for air cargo handling at KAIA

RIYADH — The General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) granted a license for air cargo handling service provider at King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah to SATS Saudi Arabia Company.

This step comes as part of GACA’s initiatives to support air freight and liberalize its services to give the logistics sector the necessary flexibility to increase its capacity in the implementation of the civil aviation strategy that aims to enable air freight in the Kingdom and double its capacity to 4.5 million tons of goods.

GACA granted the second operator license in contract that was signed at King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah.

GACA was represented by the General Director of Revenue and Commercial Operations, Sultan Al-Sultan, and SATS by the General Manager Lee Phon Keen, in the presence of the CEO of Jeddah Airports Company Eng. Ryyan Trabzoni.

GACA is set to move forward in achieving its strategic objectives, attracting global investors, and raising the quality of services provided at airports to advance and develop the aviation sector.

Furthermore, to reach the best results and achievements locally, regionally and internationally, and to be the first leading sector in the Middle East.

Moreover, to benefit from huge investment opportunities to be an important tributary in the economic development, which is in line with and consistent with the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 that aims to achieve sustainable development of the national economy, and for the Kingdom to be a global logistics center linking the three continents in the field of transport and air freight. — SG
