ZAGREB — The Islamic Sheikhdom in the Republic of Croatia has awarded the certificate of the influential Islamic personality to Saudi Minister of Islamic Affairs Sheikh Dr. Abdullatif bin Abdulaziz Al Al-Sheikh in recognition of his efforts in spreading the message of tolerance, cooperation and dialogue among religions, as well as serving Islam according to the approach of moderation and confronting extremist groups.
In a statement issued by the Sheikhdom’s Executive Council of the Republic of Croatia, Head of the Islamic Sheikhdom of the Republic of Croatia Sheikh Aziz Hasanovic said honoring Al-Sheikh comes as recognition of the role of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and its institutions under the directives of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman in spreading the principles of dialogue and tolerance among all religions.
As part of his official visit to Croatia, Dr. Al-Sheikh visited on Friday the History Museum in Zagreb. Hee was accompanied by Head of the Islamic Sheikhdom, the Grand Mufti of the Republic of Croatia, Sheikh Aziz Hasanovic, Saudi Ambassador to Bosnia and Herzegovina Osama bin Dakhil Al-Ahmadi, who is non-resident Ambassador to Serbia and Croatia, and a number of senior officials of the Croatian Ministry of Culture and Islamic Sheikhdom.
The Minister of Islamic Affairs and his accompanying delegation toured the museum and its facilities. They were briefed on most prominent holdings of the museum, which represent the heritage and history of the Republic of Croatia. — SPA
