Tripartite, Saudi, Kuwaiti, USA ‘Gulf Shooting 2021’ exercise continues

KUWAIT — The "Gulf Shooting 2021" exercise, scheduled to last until Nov. 18, continued for the eighth day in a row in Kuwait, with the participation of the Royal Saudi Land Forces, the Kuwaiti Land Forces, and the American Spartan Force.

The commander of the exercise Col. Naif Bin Al-Hamidi Al-Otaibi, said the first phase of the drill was concluded with the participation of forces from the three participating countries, as it achieved the pre-set goals, which aim at strengthening military relations and joint defense cooperation with the participating countries.

It also offers a platform for exchanging experiences and military knowledge via implementing various military tactics, command and control operations training, direct and indirect shooting training, and improving compatibility and coordination of military equipment.

He added that the exercise would boost the military and defense cooperation to achieve the common interests between the armed forces of the countries taking part in the exercise and consolidate the principles and foundations of coordination and joint work.

Col. Al-Otaibi said during the exercise, training was conducted in planning and implementation of command and control measures of commanding forces and achieving rapid response to emergencies for joint ground operations, in addition to developing skills of implementing tactical shooting for infantry and armored units in harmony with close air support and administrative support operations. — SPA
