JEDDAH — Driven by allegiance to social commitment as a value, Abeer Medical Group, a global healthcare organization with over 50 healthcare facilities across GCC and India, observed Breast Cancer Awareness month, which is observed in October world over.

The medical group is aspiring to leave a positive impact on the communities, environment and lives they touch, dutifully catering to nearly 4 million care seekers annually.

By having ‘social commitment’ as one of the primary values of the organization, alongside excellence, diversity, teamwork, integrity and compassion, Abeer Medical Group continuously delivers its goals, objectives, and business practices in alignment with Saudi Vision 2030; achieving synergy in Saudi society at large.

Moreover, Vision 2030’s healthcare delivery plan illustrates four direct objectives to achieve transformative change to a critical sector; including the facilitation of easy access to health services, improving healthcare quality and effectiveness, promoting the prevention of health risks, and enhancing traffic safety.

Abeer, while paying close attention to the Vision’s objectives and striving to play a role in its achievement, has put an emphasis on promoting the preventive aspects of healthcare in the populace of KSA.

Consequently, as an organization that cares for the health and wellbeing of its community, the medical group initiated various activations throughout October, as well as several educational and interactive workshops on Breast Cancer Awareness in the city of Jeddah, with an emphasis on the theme, “Together We Battle Breast Cancer”.

The events simultaneously kicked off at three major women’s institutions: Effat University, International Technical Female College, and Jeddah World Academy, with the primary objective of raising awareness on the subject and educating the attendees on preventive measures, common misconceptions, and examination methods for early detection of breast cancer.

Abeer’s Chief Nursing Officer, Angelene Abdelsalam, who led the workshop at Jeddah World Academy, commented “What I’ll teach you today will encourage you and possibly inspire a mother, daughter and any female in your life to be aware of how important early detection is."

In addition, Dr. Amal Farahat, who led the virtual workshop at International Technical Female College, stated, “Majority of the patients that come into our clinics that are later on diagnosed with breast cancer are self-tested patients. They notice an abnormality; be it a lump or a change in color and texture, which is later on verified with ultrasound and mammogram to be cancerous.”

Through the Group's combined efforts, Abeer and its employees persistently attempt to make their communities better places to live and work in, locally and globally. In 2017, Abeer entered the Guinness Book of World Records by creatively forming the world’s largest human mosaic, exceptionally promoting the renowned logo of World Diabetes Day.

Once again, Abeer is ready to share its expertise and support on boosting the awareness of the disease on World’s Diabetes Day with measurable impact on strategic philanthropy, community involvement and a diversified environment. This yearly tradition sheds light on the cause and serves as a reminder to strive for better health.

Abeer is incredibly proud of providing quality healthcare to those in need, engaging in a broad range of medical services, and supporting community health initiatives.

The group is one of the leading healthcare providers in the Kingdom, with various healthcare departments along with diagnostic services and support services, available in Jeddah, Riyadh, Dammam, Makkah, Madinah and Hail.

For the last 22 years, Abeer has played an influential role in communities across the globe and is bound to reach greater heights with their future expansion plans. — SG
