Saudi neighborhood bids emotional farewell to expat imam

AL-QURAYYAT – A Saudi family in a neighborhood in Al-Qurayyat governorate in the north of Saudi Arabia hosted a farewell party in honor of an Indian expatriate who served as the imam of the local mosque for nearly four decades.

Sheikh Saeed is leaving for his home country, India, on a final exit visa after spending almost 38 years in the Kingdom.

Al-Ekhbariya channel aired a report about the touching farewell in which a large number of the local people attended and spoke emotionally about their strong bonds of affection and respect with their favorite imam, saying that he was more than a family member for them.

They expressed their appreciation of Sheikh Saeed’s piety, sincerity, commitment and dedication throughout his stay in the Kingdom. They also presented gifts to Sheikh Saeed during the ceremony.
