RIYADH — The Saudi-led Arab Coalition to support the legitimate Yemeni government said its air defense forces shot down three explosives-laden drones flown by "the terrorist Houthi militias" from Yemen towards Saudi Arabia.

In response to the threats, the Coalition forces started a qualitative operation to tackle the sources of threats, the Saudi Press Agency tweeted on Friday, citing a statement from the Coalition command.

The Houthis failed to fire two ballistic missiles from an area near Sanaa towards the Kingdom and both missiles landed inside Yemen, according to the statement.

The botched missile attacks were carried out from inside civilian property in Dhaber village, it said, noting that the Houthis use civilians as human shields.

The Arab Coalition said Saturday that more than 70 Houthi terrorists were killed in 15 air raids on their sites in Marib and Al-Bayda over the past 24 hours.

"The military operations led also to the destruction of 11 military vehicles and an air defense system," Saudi Press Agency (SPA) quoted a Coalition statement on Twitter.

Nineteen attacks were launched by the Coalition on the western coast to protect the civilians and support the forces there, it added.

Meanwhile, the Bahraini Ministry of Foreign Affairs has condemned the continuing launch of bomb-laden drones by the Iranian-backed terrorist Houthi militia towards Saudi Arabia, in a systematic terrorist act targeting civilians and civilian objects, as well as violating the international humanitarian law.

The ministry strongly denounced Houthi militia's launch of three drones towards the southern region of the Kingdom.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the Bahraini Ministry of Foreign Affairs commended the efficiency and vigilance of the coalition forces supporting legitimacy in Yemen that successfully intercepted and destroyed the drones, affirming the Kingdom of Bahrain's support and stand with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in all measures it takes to protect its security, stability and territorial integrity.

The ministry reiterated the call for the necessity of uniting efforts to stop the terrorist Houthi attacks that threaten regional security and stability. — SPA
