Riyadh Season draws over 4.5 million visitors in a month

RIYADH –
The number of people who visited the ongoing Riyadh Season crossed 4.5 million within a period of one month. The festival that began on Oct. 20 also created more than 122,000 jobs.

The Riyadh Season 2 recorded unprecedented number of visitors, who included citizens, residents and tourists from within the Kingdom and outside. The festival has been instrumental in creating 37,000 direct jobs, and 85,000 indirect jobs.

Details about the record number of figures were released by the General Entertainment Authority Chief Turki Al-Sheikh in statements on his Twitter account.

The visitors included 3.6 million from the city of Riyadh, 620,000 visitors from different regions of the Kingdom, while the number of visitors from the Gulf countries reached more than 163,000, and the number of visitors from different countries of the world exceeded 145,000.

The number of tourist visas issued for the season reached more than 40,000 visas from about 104 countries from around the world. Britain is the topper among these countries with more than 9200 visitors, and it is followed by the United States of America with 9,000 visitors; France 3300 visitors, Canada 2900 visitors and Italy 2300 visitors.
