RIYADH — Saudi Human Rights Commission, on the occasion of International Human Rights Day 2021, organized a forum entitled "Achievements of Human Rights in Saudi Arabia".
President of the commission Dr. Awwad Bin Saleh Al-Awwad said the Kingdom is witnessing reforms in all fields under the leadership of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman and the Crown Prince, especially in human rights, adding that this prosperous era has seen a qualitative and exceptional leap in that regard.
Dr. Al-Awwad added that Saudi Arabia has implemented over 90 reforms which have contributed to the Kingdom’s advancement in global human rights rankings and indicators.
This is in addition to the Kingdom’s strengthening of its international and regional partnerships to support efforts to protect human rights, citing KSA’s last week’s forum which discussed the challenges of combating crimes of trafficking in persons in the Middle East 2021, “under the theme "National and International Coordination on Combating Trafficking in Persons in the Light of the Coronavirus Pandemic”, with international participation.
The Commission’s president highlighted the importance of empowering individuals to know their rights and the need to build a culture of participation in efforts to protect and support human rights at all levels and sectors. — SPA
