CAIRO — The Arab Parliament condemned the targeting of innocent civilians in the city of Jazan, Saudi Arabia, with a projectile launched by the Houthi terrorist militia, killing two people and injuring seven.
In a statement today, Arab Parliament affirmed that this deliberate criminal act, through which the terrorist Houthi militia is trying to target civilians and civilian facilities, is considered an act of war crime committed by the Iran-backed Houthi militia, and a flagrant violation of all international laws.
The Cairo-based group called on the UN to take firm stances towards these acts and hold the perpetrators accountable, stressing its absolute support for all measures taken by Saudi Arabia to protect its security, stability and sovereignty of its territories, praising the steadfast of the coalition forces in confronting these threats.
In Manama, Bahrain strongly condemned the terrorist Houthi militia’s launching of projectiles towards the Saudi cities of Najran and Jazan, killing a Saudi and Yemeni civilians in the city of Jazan and injuring others.
It expressed its condolence and sympathy to the governments of Saudi Arabia and the Republic of Yemen as well as families of the victims, wishing the injured a speedy recovery.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bahrain affirmed its solidarity with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and support for all the measures it takes to maintain its security, stability and territorial integrity.
It called on the international community to condemn these heinous terrorist attacks deliberately and systematically committed by the Houthi militia, in a flagrant violation of international humanitarian law.
The Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Secretary General Dr. Nayef Falah Mubarak Al-Hajraf has condemned in the strongest terms the "cowardly" terrorist attack on Samtah Governorate, Jazan Region, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, which resulted in the death and injury of many Saudis and residents as a result of the fall of a military projectile launched by the Houthi terrorist militia.
He stressed that the Houthi terrorist militia’s continued immoral practices of trying to target civilians and civilian objects, as well as targeting civilian neighborhoods, are considered as a war crime by deliberately targeting civilians and protected civilian objects with special protection under the international humanitarian law and its rules.
He added that their systematic and deliberate targeting, and the targeting of the safe civilians and civilian installations, are a flagrant violation of the international norms and laws, and the international community must assume its responsibilities towards Houthi practices.
The GCC Secretary General reiterated the GCC countries' solidarity with the Kingdom against everything that targets its security, stability and territorial integrity, stressing the necessity for the international community to take immediate and decisive measures to stop these aggressive acts targeting vital and civil installations and the security of the Kingdom.
The General Secretariat of the Arab Interior Ministers Council too has strongly condemned the Houthi militia's terrorist attack targeting Jazan city with a projectile, which resulted in killing two people and injuring several civilians, describing it as cowardly.
In a statement issued in Tunis, the General Secretariat said that this is a sheer criminal act added to the crimes of this Iran-backed militia, its flagrant violations of international humanitarian law, and its continuous threats to security and stability in the region.
The General Secretariat of the Council considered this criminal act a war crime whose perpetrators must be held accountable, stressing its full support for all measures undertaken by Saudi Arabia to protect its civilian facilities, security, and the safety of its citizens and residents.
The statement also commended the Saudi and coalition forces' role and efforts in dealing with these threats and confronting the terrorist acts carried out by this militia, expressing sincere condolences and sympathy to the families of the victims, and wishing a speedy recovery for the injured.
In Abu Dhabi, the UAE expressed its strong condemnation and denunciation of the crime of targeting Samtah Governorate, Jazan region by the Houthi terrorist militia with a projectile, which resulted in killing two people and injuring a number of civilians.
In a statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, the UAE expressed its sincere condolences and sympathy for the victims of this cowardly act, and its wishes of a speedy recovery for the injured.
The ministry said that this attack on Samtah Governorate, which resulted in casualties and caused several injuries, represents a serious escalation and a cowardly act that calls for taking all necessary measures to protect civilian facilities and civilians from the Houthi threats.
The ministry also reiterated UAE's full solidarity with the Kingdom and support for all measures it takes to preserve its security and the safety of its citizens and residents.
The statement stressed that the security of the UAE and the security of the Kingdom are inseparable and that any threat or danger facing the Kingdom is considered a threat to the security and stability of the UAE.
Egypt too condemned, in the strongest terms, the terrorist attack using a projectile fired by the Houthi militia on Samtah governorate, killing two people and injuring seven others.
In a statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs today, Egypt affirmed its solidarity with Saudi Arabia, in confronting these despicable terrorist attacks, which represent a violation of the international law and a blatant threat to security and stability of the region.
The Egyptian government and people expressed sincere condolence and sympathy to the Kingdom and the families of the innocent victims, wishing the injured a speedy recovery.
Also, the State of Kuwait has strongly condemned and denounced Houthi militia's ongoing attempts to threaten the security of Saudi Arabia by targeting the cities of Najran and Jazan with projectiles, which resulted in two dead and seven wounded.
The Kuwaiti Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement that the continuation of these aggressive practices and escalation by targeting civilians, civilian areas and the security of the Kingdom as well as the stability of the region constitutes a flagrant violation of the rules of international and humanitarian law and requires the international community to act quickly and decisively to deter these threats and hold the perpetrators accountable.
The statement affirmed Kuwait's full support for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and all the measures it takes to preserve its security, stability and sovereignty.
In Islamabad, Pakistan strongly condemned the launch of a projectile by the Houthi terrorist militia towards Samtah Governorate, Jazan Region, which resulted in casualties, injuries and damage to civilian infrastructure.
In a statement issued today, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan said that such attacks not only violate the international law but also threaten the peace and security of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the region.
The statement added that Pakistan calls for immediate cessation of these attacks and reaffirms its full support and solidarity with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia against any threats to its security and territorial integrity.
In Amman, Jordan has strongly condemned the terrorist Houthi militia's targeting of Jazan and Najran regions by two projectiles, which resulted in two deaths in Jazan and the injury of a number of others.
The official spokesperson for the Jordanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Haitham Abu Al-Ful stressed his country's support for Saudi Arabia in the face of all that threatens its security and the security of its people, expressing sincere condolences for the victims and wishing the injured a speedy recovery. — SPA
