BISHKEK — A school was opened in Kyrgyzstan’s Osh province on Wednesday, as part of a Saudi project to construct public schools abroad.

The Saudi Fund for Development (SFD) contributed SR112.5 million for the construction of the school in cooperation with the Kyrgyz government.

The school was opened in the presence of Saudi Ambassador to Kyrgyzstan Ibrahim bin Radi Al-Radi, a representative of Kyrgyzstan President, Mayor of Osh Province, a number of officials, journalists, and a group of parents and students.

The officials praised Saudi Arabia's role in supporting the Kyrgyz Republic and helping it improve the country’s infrastructure. They expressed happiness with the opening of the school, which will be an addition to education in Kyrgyzstan in general. Kyrgyzstan faces a shortage in the number of schools compared to the number of students.

The Kingdom has provided many various kinds of aid to Kyrgyzstan in such areas as education, health, road, and water services. — SPA
