RIYADH — The Speaker of the Shoura Council, Sheikh Dr. Abdullah Al Al-Sheikh, will start on Sunday an official visit to Bahrain. He will head a delegation from the Shoura Council, to meet with senior officials and hold official talks with the Speakers of the House of Representatives and the Shoura Council in Bahrain.
During the visit, which comes at an official invitation of the Speaker of the House of Representatives in Bahrain, Fawzia bint Abdullah Zainal, the delegation will discuss several topics of common interest in various fields, aspects of parliamentary cooperation between the Saudi Shoura Council and the House of Representatives and the Shoura Council in Bahrain, and joint coordination in regional and international parliamentary affairs.
Al-Sheikh stressed that the visit comes in the context of the keenness and interest of the leaderships of the two countries to enhance cooperation between the Gulf legislative councils in general and between the Saudi Shoura Council and the House of Representatives and the Shoura Council in Bahrain in particular.
The Speaker of the Shoura Council reiterated that parliamentary relations are witnessing progress, translated in the mutual bilateral visits and the level of coordination between two sides, whether at the level of council presidencies or the level of members of the joint parliamentary committees.
He added that the parliamentary cooperation between the two countries reflects both sides' keenness to push forward the aspects of cooperation to levels that match the aspirations of the leaderships of the two countries to achieve growth and prosperity for the two brotherly peoples. — SPA
