DUBAI — The General Directorate of Passports and Immigration, an affiliate of the Ministry of Interior of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, has presented a working paper at Expo 2020 Dubai, as part of the GCC interior ministries pavilion, highlighting lessons learnt and experiences gained during the coronavirus pandemic and emphasizing their impact on the GCC passports and immigration agencies.

In his paper, Assistant Director-General of Passports for Institutional Excellence Colonel Dr. Abdulkarim Al-Zahrani reviewed his agency's efforts to reduce the repercussions of the pandemic on beneficiaries.

He cited Saudi Arabia's efforts in confronting the pandemic as well as the Directorate’s digital transformation plan and its electronic services, which contributed significantly to the success of remote work and facilitating the beneficiaries’ access to services, without the need to personally attend to government offices. — SPA
