MAKKAH — The General Presidency for the Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet's Mosque, represented by the technical and operational affairs agency, increased the operational capacity for the assets of the Grand Mosque and its facilities through a package of works related to technical and operational services offered for worshippers.

It increased its preparedness to welcome visitors in the coming period through updating electrical, mechanical and electronic elements.

The agency has prepared special areas designated for praying and tawaf (circumambulation), followed up on the implementation of work orders to operate and maintain electronic, electrical and mechanical systems at the Grand Mosque and its facilities.

The presidency seeks to cover all maintenance works at the Grand Holy Mosque through preparing plans, inspecting 8,000 speakers, 32,000 lighting units, 200 escalators, 259 fire extinguishers, water tankers with a capacity of 1,500 square meters, 3,400 toilets, and sterilization and cooling systems for Zamzam water. — SPA
