RIYADH — Dr. Nayef Falah Mubarak Al-Hajraf, secretary general of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), affirmed the GCC's aspiration for an ambitious partnership that creates more new opportunities for economic growth and prosperity between the GCC and India.

During a session of the official talks held virtually Wednesday between Dr. Al-Hajraf with Indian Minister of Commerce and Industry Piyush Goyal, they reviewed all aspects of economic and trade relations between the two sides, confirming the launch of free trade negotiations during this year to serve common interests.

Dr. Al-Hajraf pointed out the importance of inaugurating a new phase in the historical and extended relationship of the GCC countries with India.

This they hope to achieve via consolidating bilateral cooperation aimed at stimulating sustainable economic growth, enhancing trade and investment flow between the two sides, seizing opportunities and promoting common interests. — SPA
