MAKKAH — The swift action on the part of the medical staff of the Makkah Health Cluster saved the life of a Bangladeshi Umrah pilgrim who was in serious condition after suffering from a massive heart attack.

Hatem Al-Masoudi, spokesman of Makkah Health Cluster, said that the Ajyad General Hospital received information from the Red Crescent about the pilgrim’s serious condition following a cardiac arrest.

He said, after carrying out the necessary medical procedures, it was found that the pilgrim had suffered from a severe heart attack, which necessitated his immediate transfer to King Abdullah Medical City.

The patient was taken to the medical city in a short period of time where he had undergone catheterization operation after the diagnose revelaed complete blockage of the right coronary artery.

The pilgrim’s condition is stable after undergoing the successful operation.
