CAIRO — Minister of Islamic Affairs, Call and Guidance Sheikh Dr. Abdullatif Bin Abdulaziz Al Al-Sheikh met Saturday with Grand Mufti of Egypt Dr. Shawki Allam, on the sidelines of his official visit to Egypt to participate in the 32nd International Conference of the Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed issues of common interest, especially those related to serving Islam, and cooperating in boosting efforts to spread the Islamic religion's tolerance and moderation.
The Minister of Islamic Affairs commended the effective role and relentless effort of Egypt's Dar Al-Ifta in spreading Islamic teachings per the principle of moderation, controlling the fatwa process, and confronting obscurantist extremist ideology.
For his part, the Grand Mufti reiterated the strong historical ties and the permanent and continuous cooperation between Egypt and Saudi Arabia at all levels.
The highlighted the Kingdom’s efforts under the leadership of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman and Crown Prince in the service of the Grand Holy Mosque in Makkah and Muslims. — SPA
