NICOSIA — Houthis continuous targeting of Saudi Arabia with cowardly drone attacks threaten the stability of the entire region, Cypriot Foreign Minister Ioannis Kasoulides said here on Sunday.
The Cypriot foreign minister's statement came during a press conference with Foreign Minister Prince Faisal Bin Farhan, where they revealed the enhancement of the close bilateral relations.
They stressed the importance of supporting all regional and international efforts through which the Houthi militia could be reined in, and stop the humanitarian violations committed by the terrorist Houthis against the Yemeni people, which in turn disrupts all political solutions to end the Yemen crisis.
They also discussed consolidating the efforts of Saudi Arabia and Cyprus in combating and confronting terrorism and extremism in all its forms.
Prince Faisal affirmed that Nicosia is the Kingdom's main partner in the European Union, adding that it connects Riyadh with Europe.
In turn, Kasoulides said, "We appreciate Saudi Arabia's support for Cyprus and the partnership between the two countries."
During the meeting, the two sides discussed ways to enhance and develop bilateral cooperation in all fields, in light of the Kingdom's Vision 2030, in addition to the relations between Saudi Arabia and the European Union, and the importance of working to strengthen them.
Prince Faisal also met with Cyprus President Nicos Anastasiades. He conveyed to him the greetings and appreciation of the Kingdom's leadership.
The two sides also reviewed aspects of the Saudi-Cypriot partnership to achieve more prosperity for the two friendly countries and peoples.
