BISHKEK — The Saudi Fund for Development (SFD) has inaugurated a public school project in Bishkek with $30 million funding.
The project comes as part of Saudi Arabia’s efforts to support development projects in the Republic of Kyrgyzstan by constructing 30 public schools in various regions of the country. More than 50,000 children will benefit from the project annually.
The opening ceremony was attended by Dr. Saud Al-Shammari, Director of Asia Operations at SFD; Deputy Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan Edil Baisalov; a number of officials, and representatives of the Saudi Embassy in Kyrgyzstan.
On the other hand, the fund signed a bilateral agreement with Kyrgyz Finance Minister Almaz Baketayev to postpone debt servicing for development projects funded by the SFD in the country. — SPA
