GDNC: Attempts to smuggle 1.2 million amphetamine pills in Riyadh and Tabuk foiled

February 16, 2022

RIYADH — The General Directorate of Narcotics Control (GDNC) spokesperson Maj. Mohammed Al-Najidi said that the authority thwarted an attempt to smuggle and promote 790,321 amphetamine pills, which were in the possession of a citizen in Riyadh.

The security follow ups on networks of drug smuggling and promotion that target the security of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and its youth led to this foiling of the smuggling bid.

GDNC also foiled another attempt to smuggle 455,000 amphetamine pills coming from abroad. This attempt was thwarted in cooperation with the General Directorate of Border Guards and the recipient, a citizen, was arrested in Tabuk.

The preliminary legal measures have been taken against them and duly referred to the public prosecution. — SPA
