RIYADH — The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman said that Saudi Arabia has firmly established the foundations of peace, stability and justice.

King Salman extended greetings on Kingdom's Founding Day through a Twitter post on Tuesday. He said that this country since 1727 has laid the foundations of stability and justice.

He stated that celebrating such an occasion reflects the Saudi people's unity and determination in the face of challenges, while having aspirations for the future.

Saudi Arabia has started celebrating the anniversary of the Founding Day of the first Saudi State on Tuesday, Feb. 22 for the first time this year.

Saudi Founding Day celebrates the founding of the first Saudi State, the Emirate of Diriyah, by Imam Muhammad Bin Saud in 1727 — which occurred in February of that year.
