Prince Khaled launches 72 water, environment projects worth SR15 billion in Makkah

Prince Khaled Al-Faisal, advisor to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, who is also the Governor of Makkah region launched on Sunday 72 water and environment projects in Makkah at a cost of more than SR15 billion.

The Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture said that the projects include five for desalinated water transmission, at a cost of more than SR6 billion, and five other projects for the production and storage of desalinated water, at a cost exceeding 4.9 billion.

A total of 23 water transmission and distribution projects have been launched at a cost of SR1.1 billion, along with seven other water distribution projects at a cost exceeding SR378 million, and four projects to develop water resources at a cost of more than SR38.8 million.

It also said that 26 environmental services projects have been launched at a cost of more than SR1.9 billion, in addition to two projects to increase vegetation at a cost of SR24 million.
