RIYADH — The Ministry of Culture and affiliated commissions had recently participated in the 3rd Saudi Cup that was held at King Abdulaziz Equestrian Field.

On the second day, the ministry participated in several diversified cultural activities and events as part of its efforts to enhance the presence of Saudi culture in international events.

The ministry supported the fourth round of the second day races of the Equestrian Club, where Aan Al-Awan (It is time), owned by King Abdullah Bin Abdulaziz Sons, won the race and was awarded the 2020 Saudi Coffee Year logo.

The ministry, through the Ibbiyah pavilion, offered several cultural events, such as a musical show of musicians playing oud, flute, violin, and qanun, in addition to providing a shop offering and explaining various Saudi coffee types with various ways of preparing. The ministry also provided all with cultural books.

The cultural events in the Saudi Cup also included a corner for fashion by the Fashion Commission’s initiative “100 Saudi Brands”, which displayed 23 traditional outfits with a modern touch as Saudi works, which included the work of Saudi designer Noura Hifthi who showcased a women costume that was inspired by her childhood that she spent in Madinah.

Her ideas were encouraged from the velvet doors and couches with green colors, in addition to the color of ribboned works, while the Saudi JINO Fashion House adopted the Saudi Arda outfit with modern criteria, where the outfit consisted of “Al-Saya” and “Al-Mardoun”.

The ministry concluded its efforts by organizing a gala dinner under the stars, where it offered guests of the Saudi Cup local dishes that were made exclusively for this global event, in addition to organizing an auction whose profits would be donated to a charity association. — SPA
