DUSHANBE — Riyadh-based King Abdullah Bin Abdulaziz Charity Program, an affiliate of King Abdullah Bin Abdulaziz International Foundation for Humanitarian Works, has started to operate its mobile medical clinics project in the Republic of Tajikistan in cooperation with Jeddah-based Islamic Development Bank.

The project provides five mobile clinics for four beneficiary regions in Tajikistan, seeking to provide primary and secondary health care services, disease detection, surgery and radiology, in addition to training and raising the efficiency of medical personnel to serve more than 700,000 people in the country.

Since its launch in Saudi Arabia, the mobile medical clinics project has established 75 mobile medical clinics in rural areas in seven Asian countries.

This is in addition to subsidizing the costs of medicines and medical supplies for people with acute and chronic diseases, serving nearly six million people in those countries during its five-year operating period.

It is noteworthy that King Abdullah Bin Abdulaziz International Foundation for Humanitarian Works supervises a number of projects around the world, including King Abdullah Charity Program.

King Abdullah Charity is operating in more than 15 countries, including Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Indonesia, Niger, Pakistan, Somalia, Sudan, West African countries and others, focusing on education, health and social and economic development. — SPA
