RIYADH — Saudi Arabia joined world countries’ celebrations of the World Civil Defense Day, which is annually marked on March 1.

This days was accredited by the International Civil Defense Organization (ICDO) as an annual occasion to enhance the values of community participation with Civil Defense and protection apparatuses and their affiliates around the world to enhance the concepts of safety and spreading preventive awareness.

Director General of the Saudi Civil Defense Lt. Gen. Sulaiman Bin Abdullah Alamr stressed that the participation of General Directorate of Civil Defense receives the attention and care of the wise leadership through providing whatever efforts that can play a role in achieving human safety, preserving public and private gains and property.

This year it matches the name and slogan of the World Civil Defense Day 2022: “Human Safety is Building and Development”, by addressing issues of safety and preventing risks as a joint concept, under which all bear their responsibilities and work to realize and spread it and instill its concepts as part of our daily behavior that enables man to adopt it as a lifestyle.

The director general said that the General Directorate of Civil Defense has prepared an effective and comprehensive plan on the occasion across the Kingdom in partnership with all public and private institutions and the interaction of all classes and categories of the society.

The directorate will hold several diversified events that are envisioned to give a firsthand look at dangers surrounding mankind and means to avoid them, in addition to providing necessary safety conditions to prevent them, such as enhancing the concept of protection from dangers and preserving the safety of human to move forwards in building and development. — SPA
