FSC reviews investment opportunities with Thailand

RIYADH — First Deputy Chairman of the Federations of Saudi Chambers (FSC) Eng. Tareq Al-Haidari Sunday discussed with Thai Chargé d'Affaires and head of the diplomatic mission at the Thai Embassy Sathana Ayudhya means of future cooperation between the two countries, mainly in the tourism sector.

They also sought to work to enrich public and private efforts to enhance bilateral relations, find a mechanism to increase economic and commercial cooperation between the two countries, explore investment fields and available opportunities under the Saudi Vision 2030.

This is in addition to development opportunities in Thailand, mainly in the fields of green economy, renewable energy, environment, digital transformation, and cybersecurity.

Eng. Al-Haidari highlighted the important role of the private sector in developing relations with other countries, benefiting from investment opportunities, and overcoming obstacles hindering the establishment of joint commercial and industrial projects.

The commercial exchange volume between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Thailand over the past five years (2016-2020) reached SR130 billion, where Saudi Arabia’s non-oil exports to Thailand exceeded SR 2 billion in 2020.

The exports included mineral, chemical and aluminum products topping the list of the most important exported goods, while the top imported merchandise included cars, machinery, and lumber and its products. — SPA
