Holy Mosques Presidency assigns locations for Umrah pilgrims, worshippers

MAKKAH — The General Presidency for the Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet's Mosque has identified the locations for worshippers. The locations include all floors of the third Saudi expansion, King Fahd expansion with all its floors and all yards of the Grand Mosque.

The presidency urged worshippers to wear masks and follow other safety precautions in the holy precincts.

The presidency reserved special locations for Umrah pilgrims to perform the rituals of Tawaf (circumambulation) and the two Sunnah prostrations. It assigned the Tawaf area and the ground floor of the mosque for performers of Tawaf, while the basement of the Tawaf area, ground floor and the first floor of the mosque for performing the two prostrations after the Tawaf ritual.

The presidency also allocated three main gates — King Abdulaziz Gate, King Fahd Gate, Al-Salam Gate — for the entry, exit and organizing crowds. It also allocated 144 doors and three bridges: Ajyad Bridge, Al-Shabikah Bridge and Al-Marwah Bridge for the entry of worshippers to the Grand Mosque.

The presidency also resumed iftar banquets inside the Grand Holy Mosque with 2,000 banquets that will be held according to certain constraints and conditions. Applicants for holding banquets and those responsible for them can access e-services at the presidency website and obtain a license to offer the service. — SPA
