Saudi Arabia officially qualifies for Qatar 2022.

Saudi Gazette report

JEDDAH — Saudi Arabia has officially qualified for the World Cup 2022 in Qatar for the sixth time in history after Japan’s win over Australia on Thursday.

Saudi fans no longer need to wait for the results of their national team’s match against China later Thursday as Japan’s victory has doused Australia’s chances of qualifying for the World Cup directly from Group B.

Japan beat Australia 2-0 on Thursday to book their place at their seventh straight World Cup. Australia will now face a perilous play-off to keep alive their hopes of making it to Qatar.
