Saudi Arabia elected president of Arab branch of International Council on Archives

RIYADH — Riyadh has recently hosted the elections to choose members of the executive office of the Arab Regional Branch of the International Council on Archives (ARBICA) in the presence of branch members; representatives of the member Arab countries of the International Council on Archives.

Director General of the National Center for Archives and Records (NCAR) Dr. Faisal Bin Abdulaziz Al-Tamimi was elected president of the executive office of the branch, which represents the confidence of the members in the leadership of NCAR in Saudi Arabia in this international regional organization concerned with the archives affairs.

Director of the Bahraini national archive Dr. Safaa Al-Alwi was elected first vice president, and director of the Iraqi books and national documents house Dr. Alaa Ismail was elected second vice president, while president of the Egyptian books and national documents Dr. Nivin Mahmoud was elected secretary of the branch.

This election is a result of Saudi Arabia’s efforts over the past period to enhance joint Arab document action, and reflects the accelerating development that Saudi Arabia is witnessing in various fields under the Saudi Vision 2030. — SPA
