Dr. Al Al-Sheikh opens programs for Ramadan iftar, distributing dates and Holy Qur’an in Indonesia

JAKARTA — Minister of Islamic Affairs, Call and Guidance Sheikh Dr. Abdullatif Bin Abdulaziz Al Al-Sheikh here Tuesday inaugurated the programs of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman of Ramadan iftar (breaking fast), and distributing dates and copies of the Holy Qur’an of the publications of the King Fahd Complex for the Printing of the Holy Qur’an in Madinah and interpretations of the Holy Qur’an.

The ministry implements the three programs through the religious attaché office during the holy month of Ramadan, 1443 Hijri in cooperation with the Ministry of Religious Affairs and charity associations in various cities and regions of Indonesia to reach around 200,000 beneficiaries.

The inauguration ceremony was held in Jakarta with Saudi Ambassador to Indonesia Issam Bin Ahmad Al-Thaqafi, Indonesian Vice Minister of Religious Affairs for Islamic Community Guidance Dr. Kamaruddin Amin, presidents of universities and representatives of the Indonesian government in attendance.

The ceremony started with reciting verses of the Holy Qur’an and a visual presentation on the three programs.

Sheikh Dr. Al Al-Asheikh delivered a speech stressing that these programs and projects are a gift from the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and the Crown Prince, for the people in Indonesia and are implemented by the ministry through offices of the religious attachés and centers of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques in various countries during the holy month of Ramadan.

For his part, Dr. Amin praised this generous gesture and the ongoing work of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's leadership to the people in Indonesia every year in Ramadan, noting that this embodies keenness to meet their needs during this month.

For his part, the religious attaché at the embassy Sheikh Ahmad Bin Issa Al-Jazimi said that these three programs include 2,500 comprehensive Ramadan baskets, and distributing 5,000 Ramadan iftar (breaking-fast) meals, 150,000 kilograms of dates and 200,000 copies of the Holy Qur’an, where the programs and gifts will implement and distribute items in coordination with the Ministry of Religious Affairs and official charity associations. — SPA
