BHOPAL — Famous Urdu fictional writer Naeem Kausar has been chosen to get the prestigious Muzaffar Hanfi Aalami Urdu Award for 2022, it was announced recently.
The award will be given to the winner at an event planned on March 31 in the writer's home town of Bhopal in Madhya Pradesh, chairman of the award committee Dr. Mushtaq Ahmad Wani said in a press release.
The global award was instituted last year by International Urdu Movement in the name of Prof. Muzaffar Hanfi, a prominent Urdu Poet, critic and writer. The award carries a cash prize of Rs35,000, a citation certificate and a trophy.
Naeem Kausar is known across the country for his short stories. He has written plays, stories for children, novels and has nearly half-a-dozen collection of short stories to his credit.
The Madhya Pradesh government has bestowed Shikhar Samman on him in recognition of his literary works.
