RIYADH — The National Cybersecurity Authority (NCA) has issued a high warning to people regarding Apple company’s updates.

The NCA said that Apple has issued several updates to address a number of security vulnerabilities in its unit, as it urged people to update their devices to the new versions.

They are: iOS 15.4.1, iPadOS 15.4.1, for iPhone6s and later, iPad Pro (all models), iPad Air 2 and later, iPad 5th generation and later, iPad 6 mini and later, and iPad touch (7th generation).

Additionally, the update of macOS Monterey 12.3.1 and for macOS Monterey.

The threats could enable the attacker to exploit the vulnerabilities through malicious software with high powers, NCA warned.

The Authority has asked consumers to update the noted devices, and invited them to visit the Apple website, which issued a clarification of the updates.

"For those who don’t know, a “zero-day” flaw is the worst type of vulnerability as it means it’s already known to crooks ...and being used by them to scam users,” agencies said, noting that the vulnerability was discovered by an unidentified researcher.

It is noteworthy that Apple said the new update would fix an issue that caused battery life to drain faster than expected. It also includes fixes for 'Made for iPhone' hearing devices and Braille devices.
