DAMMAM — Widespread dust enveloped the Eastern Province as a strong intensity dust storm hit the region in the forenoon of Saturday.

Satellite images showed that the sandstorm might extend to the Riyadh region, and Qassim region in the coming hours.

Hafr Al-Batin Governorate and its affiliated centers witnessed this afternoon a decrease in the level of visibility due to the strong dust storm, which caused material losses to some camps and livestock owners.

The National Center of Meteorology said that the satellite images show that the northern parts of the eastern region, which includes Hafr Al-Batin and Al-Qaisumah, and the surrounding area were affected by the dust storm, which caused almost a complete lack of visibility.

The center expected that the impact of the storm would continue during the coming hours until Sunday’s morning, on most parts of the eastern regions, Qassim and Riyadh.
