RIYADH — The Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Secretary General Dr. Nayef Falah Mubarak Al-Hajraf stressed the importance of strengthening cooperation in the field of cybersecurity, as it represents one of the most important pillars for the protection and safety of data and information.
He praised the great movement in the field of cybersecurity in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and its winning advanced international places in this regard.
This came during Tuesday’s signing of a memorandum of understanding between the GCC General Secretariat and the Kingdom's National Cybersecurity Authority (NCA) at the authority's headquarters in Riyadh.
Dr. Al-Hajraf highlighted the keenness of the GCC General Secretariat to establish partnerships with the GCC, regional and international bodies, with the aim of benefiting from various experiences.
This, he said, was in response to future requirements and in preparation for the competition and challenges that it will impose requiring intensifying efforts in the field of cybersecurity, building strong technological systems, and enhancing specialized human capacities.
He also stressed the need to protect information and the development of plans to avoid cyber security incidents, while praising the pioneering experience of NCA in the Kingdom in this important field. — SPA
