BEIRUT — Saudi Arabia will support Lebanon and its people during such tough times the country suffers, the Saudi Ambassador to Lebanon Waleed Bukhari said on Wednesday.

The Saudi diplomat's remarks came after he met the Lebanese President Michel Aoun in Baabda Palace on Wednesday.

Bukhari briefed President Aoun on the working mechanism of the Saudi-French joint Fund, allocated to humanitarian aid, and meant to fulfill and provide stability and development in Lebanon.

They also tackled bilateral ties and emphasized the importance to develop them in all fields.

Last Thursday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Saudi Arabia announced the return of the Kingdom’s ambassador to Lebanon. — SG
