Saudi Gazette report

RIYADH — The Council of Ministers on Tuesday approved amendments in the regulation pertaining to the participation of official Saudi delegations in conferences, seminars and meetings outside the Kingdom.

The amendments stipulated that the participation of university presidents in conferences, symposiums, and meetings in a foreign country should be with the approval of the Minister of Education, and there is no longer any need to submit a request to the King for permission to participate.

There was also another amendment with regard to the participation of heads of government agencies not associated with the King or the Council of Ministers in any events outside the Kingdom.

For this, only the approval of the person to whom these bodies are linked, or their supervisors, or the chairman of the board of directors, or the like, is required.

The request for the approval of the King is required only for the bodies associated with the King and the Council of Ministers.
