Employees ensure smooth flow of worshippers at Prophet’s Mosque during Taraweeh

MADINAH — The Agency of the General Presidency for the Affairs of the Prophet's Mosque and related institutions seek to accommodate the biggest number of worshippers to perform prayer at the Prophet's Holy Mosque and its yards, in addition to preparing means for providing services to enable them to perform prayers easily and securely.

The Saudi Press Agency (SPA) has monitored scenes of the spiritual atmospheres across the Prophet's Mosque and its yards during the Taraweeh prayer.

The efforts of employees working with various agencies focused on the smooth movement of worshippers who enter the mosque through 100 gates, according to the absorptive capacity inside easch area of the mosque and its roof. Upon exhausting the absorptive capacity there, the employees direct worshippers to the new western park.

Around 200,000 worshippers were present in the external yards of the Prophet's Mosque during the Taraweeh prayer. The place is prepared for them by operating sprinkler fans to cool the weather, providing watering services through 1,209 drinking fountains available at various locations, and offering all necessary services that can enable them to perform prayers in ease and tranquillity.

A total of 3,200 official, temporary and seasonal employees from the agency work to coordinate efforts to enable worshippers to perform prayers at the designated areas that are provided with carpets. Wide corridors are maintained between prayer areas to ensure the easy flow of crowd movements.

Praying areas for people with disabilities are allocated near the gates of the mosque to facilitate their entry and exit.

The workers strictly follow up on schedules for turning on the lights, umbrellas, domes and air conditioning, the guidance service and crowd management so that the worshippers can enjoy security, comfort and tranquillity. — SPA
