Kingdom congratulates president, members of Yemen Leadership Council for taking oath

JEDDAH — The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has expressed Saudi Arabia's congratulations to the president and members of the Yemeni Presidential Leadership Council, for taking the constitutional oath in Aden.

The ministry expressed the Kingdom's aspiration for all Yemeni components to bear the national responsibility to build a prosperous Yemen that rises with pride and dignity, enjoys security and safety within its Gulf Arab region, and moves from division, difference and war to peace, security, development, and prosperity.

The ministry reiterated the Kingdom's full support for the president and the Presidential Leadership Council and its affiliated entities to enable the council to exercise its duties in implementing effective policies and initiatives that would achieve security and stability in Yemen, and serve the Yemeni people and meet their hopes and aspirations.

The Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Secretary-General Dr. Nayef Falah Mubarak Al-Hajraf welcomed the swearing-in by Rashad Mohammed Al-Alimi, president of the Yemeni Presidential Leadership Council, and the Council's members.

The members are: Sultan Ali Al-Arada, Tariq Mohammed Saleh, Abdurrahman Abu Zara’a, Abdullah Al-Alimi Bawazeer, Othman Hussein Majali, Aidaros Qassem Al-Zubaidi and Faraj Salmin Al-Bahsani before the Parliament in its session held Tuesday in the temporary capital of Aden.

The session washeaded by its Speaker Sheikh Sultan Al-Barakani and the swearing-in was held in the presence of heads and members of the Councils of Ministers, Shoura, Supreme Judiciary, Supreme Elections Committee and Military Affairs Committee.

Dr. Al-Hajraf congratulated the president and members of the Presidential Leadership Council on taking oath and the launch of an important historical stage.

He stressed the support of the GCC to the Presidential Leadership Council to enable it to exercise its duties in everything that would achieve security and stability in the Republic of Yemen and end the Yemeni crisis so that the fraternal Yemeni people enjoy prosperity, development and peace.

He also wished the Yemeni Presidential Leadership Council headed by Al-Alimi and its members all success in carrying out its national responsibilities to achieve security and stability in Yemen and to serve its people. — SPA
