JEDDAH — Saudi Finance Minister Mohammed Al-Jadaan met on Wednesday with the US Secretary of the Treasury Janet L. Yellen on the sidelines of the IMF and World Bank Spring Meetings as well as the G20 Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors meeting under the Indonesian Presidency.
They discussed bilateral economic relations between the two countries, as well as the most prominent economic aspects stemming from the recent geopolitical tensions and the ongoing COVID-19 Pandemic to overcome the rising challenges while safeguarding the global economic recovery, Saudi ministry of finance said.
Secretary Yellen reiterated the importance of the US-Saudi bilateral relationship, welcoming the continued partnership between the two countries in combatting terrorist financing in the region, a statement from the US department of the treasury read.
The meeting was attended virtually by a number of officials from the Saudi Ministry of Finance and the US Treasury. — SG
