ZURICH — Tickets applications for the match between Saudi Arabia and Argentina in the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022are proving a big draw among the fans.

The tickets are among the most sought-after matches that have attracted fans, FIFA said in a statement.

FIFA said that the matches that received high applicants from the fans were Argentina's matches against Mexico, Saudi Arabia and Poland, in addition to facing England and the United States.

The final match that will take place on Dec. 18 is also among the most coveted matches, FIFA confirmed.

The total number of the tickets' requests for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 has reached nearly 23.5 million in the most recent random selection draw sales period that ended on Thursday, April 28.

In its statement, FIFA confirmed that Argentina, Brazil, England, France, Mexico, Saudi Arabia and the United States are at the forefront of the most requested applicants' countries.

FIFA announced in March that more than 800,000 tickets had been sold in the inaugural sales phase.

Tickets applicants will be notified of the outcome of their ticket applications by emails on May 31, 2022, FIFA said.

It also noted that the applicants would be provided with the steps that are to be followed and the deadline to pay for the assigned tickets.

The match between Saudi Arabia and Argentina will take place on Nov. 22 at Lusail Stadium in the first round of the World Cup.

It is noteworthy that the last match between Saudi Arabia and Argentina ended in a goalless draw, on Nov. 14, 2012, in a friendly match held at King Fahd Stadium in Riyadh.
