MAKKAH — The Saudi Civil Defense teams were able to recover the bodies of three women and a child who drowned in a water swamp in the town of Abu Malih, Ranyah governorate in Makkah region on Wednesday.

The Civil Defense shared images of divers searching for the bodies in the lake, at a time when social media users urged concerned authorities to clear marshes created by rains, particularly those near the population centers.

At the same time, the General Directorate of Civil Defense urged care and caution in approaching low-lying areas during heavy rain in light of the severe weather conditions some parts of Saudi Arabia are witnessing these days.

The General Directorate of Civil Defense warned everyone to be wary of potential dangers in adverse weather conditions and urged them to stay away from areas where torrents converge, avoid crossing valleys or hiking near water swamps during rainstorms. It also urged the public to strictly follow civil defense instructions announced through various media and communication platforms for their safety.
