ATLANTA — Saudi Arabia, represented by King Abdulaziz and his Companions Foundation for Giftedness and Creativity (Mawhiba) and the Ministry of Education, collected six prizes in the International Scientific and Engineering Fair (ISEF) 2022 in the US city of Atlanta, Georgia, from May 7-13, 2022, it was reported on Friday.
Saudi students were participating in the event for the 16th time in a row.
Abdullah Al-Ghamdi won two prizes in energy; Dana Al-Aithan awarded a prize in chemistry; Tahani Adel in materials; Maria Al-Ghamdi in chemistry; and Yousef Khoja in CD systems.
Mawhiba announced 19 winners of its special prizes from all over the world.
Six students — three Saudis and three Americans — were also granted scholarships to participate in Mawhiba international enrichment program.
As many as 13 students belonging to the United States, India and China were awarded scholarships to study at King Fahd University for Petroleum and Minerals.
As part of their ISEF 2022 participation, the Saudi students installed project signboards in the exhibition, took part in workshops in preparation for the arbitration tours, and trained the female Saudi student who won the Broadcom Master awards. – SG/SPA
