TBILISI — Saudi Arabia's embassy in Georgia has called on its citizens to take several important measures before taking the decision of investing in real estate in the country.

The embassy said that people wishing to invest in real estate in Georgia must fulfill three requirements, which are:

1 - Those wishing to invest must check and visit the embassy before signing the real estate investment's contracts.

2 - It is important to hire a certified lawyer to receive advice before starting the contract signing procedures.

3 - It is important and necessary before signing to know the regulations of investment and documenting the contracts with the House of Justice in Georgia.

Foreigners are not allowed to own agricultural land in Georgia, the embassy noted.

It is noteworthy that the Saudi Embassy in Georgia had earlier warned the citizens in the country to beware of being robbed.

The embassy said that it had noticed that some Saudi tourists were repeatedly and professionally scammed and robbed while they were in Tbilisi.

The embassy clarified that citizens were robbed in the city center of Tbilisi, on Marjanishvili Street, and in Batumi Europe Square.

It has advised citizens to stay away from suspicious places and avoid contact with strangers, and to avoid going out wearing or holding valuable things such as watches and jewelry, in addition to not carrying large sums of money.
