RIYADH — The Public Prosecution has confirmed that the anti-trafficking law has established criminal penalties for the use of force or threats to give perjury.

The Public Prosecution warned that anyone who uses physical force, threats, or intimidation to give false testimony would be punished with imprisonment, in addition to a fine.

The Public Prosecution said that the penalties are not limited only to those who threaten, but it also includes every person who deprives another person of a deserved benefit, or makes a promise to obtain an undue advantage, or offers it, or grants it to incite the threatening party to give false testimony, or that the person interferes with their testimony, or to provide incorrect evidence related to committing one of any stipulated' crimes.

According to the anti-trafficking law, the Public Prosecution has confirmed that the penalty for using force or threats to give perjury includes imprisonment for up to 5 years, as well as a fine reaching SR200,000.
