OTTAWA — The Saudi embassy in Canada has called on its citizens to stay at home due to continuous strong storms in Ontario.

The embassy's statement came due to the inclement weather in Ontario province and cities, and the continuing effects of the strong storm, which resulted in the killing of 3 people and damaging a huge number of homes.

The embassy urged Saudi citizens to follow the instructions of the local authorities in the country, which advised them to stay at home in order to avoid the traffic that was affected as a result of falling trees.

Citizens in the Ontario province should immediately contact the embassy if an emergency case happens, the embassy said.

It is noteworthy that the Ontario police announced that the region is witnessing a strong summer storm that resulted in the killing of three people and injuring a number of individuals.

It has also left about 900,000 homes in eastern Canada without electricity on Saturday evening due to the storms.
